We choose the best starting point for current flow, so you get a longer trip through Pagosa’s river corridor without having to figure out the route or transportation yourself. And the shuttle happens before the fun. Your float finishes back in downtown Pagosa near our shop, your vehicle, dry clothes and the Hippy Dip hot springs. Stay by the river or soak in the hot springs for a while if you want. There’s no return shuttle to miss and no wet ride back across town—you’re on your own schedule. Walk directly from our Main Street shop to the San Juan for downtown laps through the whitewater park, stop at Hippy Dip hot springs, hang out along the Riverwalk or use your own transportation to build a longer float when conditions allow. We Take Tubing Pretty Seriously
River tubing looks simple from the bank. A tube, some water and gravity. What could possibly need improving? Quite a bit, as it turns out.
Pagosa Outside has spent years working on the little details that make a tubing day work better—from helping develop commercial-grade whitewater tubes that can handle the San Juan, to refining shuttle routes, choosing starting points for changing flows, photographing guests along the river and figuring out how to make a busy downtown tubing day feel surprisingly easy.
Our location helps too. We’re at 350 Pagosa Street, right beside the river corridor, whitewater park, Riverwalk and hot springs. That means less time dealing with equipment and transportation and more time actually being on the river.
And because the San Juan is natural and free-flowing, we don’t pretend the river is the same every day. We pay attention to snowmelt, rain, changing flows and what the channel is actually doing, then tell guests what makes sense for the conditions we have—not the conditions we wish we had.
