Pagosa Springs River Tube Rentals

Around here, plenty of locals don’t need a full tubing package. They just want a really good river tube and can handle the rest themselves. That’s exactly what our DIY Tube Rentals are for.

We keep them simple and affordable: pick up one of our purpose-built single, XL or double whitewater tubes, get the current river rundown from us and build the day your way. No bundled shuttle, river shoes, trip photos or other extras you don't need.

Our Main Street shop sits directly across from Pagosa’s downtown river corridor, so getting started can be as easy as grabbing a tube and walking across the street.

This is the way the locals do it.

Walk It: The Downtown Loop

Our favorite walking route starts about two blocks upstream from our shop at Cotton's Hole Park, runs through Pagosa’s downtown whitewater park and finishes at Centennial Park or the Hippy Dip Hot Springs.

Within roughly half a mile you’ll find three whitewater features, pools, town parks and free riverside hot springs. The Riverwalk follows much of the river through this section, making it easy to get out, walk upstream and run another lap.

Pagosa Outside is only about 100 yards across Main Street from Hippy Dip, so when you're finished, your vehicle and dry clothes are close by.

Drive It: Build a Longer Float

Want more river? Bring two vehicles—or arrange your own drop-off and pickup—and stretch the day beyond the downtown loop.

Our favorite driving-shuttle route starts at Gateway River Park, runs through downtown and finishes at Centennial Park. When river level and channel conditions cooperate, longer options may continue toward Town Hall or Yamaguchi Park.

New for 2027 is the Yamaguchi South boat ramp. As of this writing, that access is still being completed, so we don't yet have specific recommendations for the additional half-mile section below Yamaguchi.

We'll update our advice as we get a chance to use it and see how the route works at different flows.

Better Tubes Matter

When we started developing shuttled whitewater tubing in Pagosa, the recreational tubes we could find simply weren't rugged enough for what we wanted to do on the San Juan.

So we worked with a whitewater raft manufacturer to develop stronger, purpose-built tubes designed for rocks, current, rapids and repeated commercial use.

Today those same ideas live in the single, XL and double whitewater tubes we rent to DIY guests. They're burly, comfortable and built for an actual river—not a swimming pool.

When the next rock is part of the adventure, the tube matters.

We keep it affordable by not bundling in services you may not need. Choose your route, set your own pace, arrange your own transportation and bring back the tube when you're done.
