Splash & Dash is Pagosa Outside’s streamlined rafting experience—real San Juan River whitewater packed into about two hours without turning rafting into an all-day production. It’s an easy fit for families, first-time rafters and anyone who wants a memorable river adventure while still leaving plenty of time for the hot springs, lunch downtown or whatever comes next. Efficient trip logistics mean less standing around and more time actually experiencing the river. And it’s all-inclusive done right: river shoes, appropriate splash gear, rafting equipment, transportation and FREE digital trip photos are all part of the experience.
Mesa Canyon Rafting Trip
Leave town behind and settle into Pagosa’s signature rafting experience—13 miles of San Juan River scenery, playful whitewater and about three hours on the water. Mesa Canyon gives you enough time to truly go somewhere. Roads and buildings disappear as the river winds through a remarkably preserved canyon corridor of sandstone walls, pine-covered slopes and quiet cottonwood bottoms. Between the scenery, splashy Class II–III rapids, a riverside break and the signature drop at Llama Falls, the trip feels like a genuine river journey rather than a quick ride through town. West Fork Rafting Trip
Unlock a different side of the San Juan. The West Fork is Pagosa Outside’s premier rafting experience—a limited-season, 14-mile river journey combining exclusive private access, Pagosa’s most technical whitewater, wild mountain scenery, and a finish right through downtown Pagosa Springs. The upper run is what sets it apart. Tight, boulder-filled Class III–III+ rapids demand quick moves, precise lines, teamwork, and active paddling. Then the river changes completely, opening into quieter miles through the upper San Juan Valley before building again through Pagosa’s downtown whitewater park. It’s rugged, varied and unlike our other rafting trips. And it’s all-inclusive done right: wetsuit, helmet, life jacket, river shoes, appropriate splash gear, rafting equipment, transportation, and FREE digital trip photos are all part of the experience.
Deluxe Whitewater Tubing Trip
Pagosa locals make river tubing look easy. They know where to start, which section works best at the current flow, where to get out, what gear actually works on the San Juan—and usually have somebody willing to handle transportation. Our Deluxe Whitewater Tubing Trip is the easy button. Pagosa Outside introduced shuttled river tubing to Pagosa Springs and has spent years refining the equipment, routes and logistics that turn a simple float into a really good river day. Reserve your departure time, park at our Main Street shop and show up ready to get wet. We handle the shuttle, purpose-built whitewater tube, PFD, river shoes, changing rooms, lockers, secure key storage and FREE digital trip photos. We choose the best starting point for current flow, so you get a longer trip through Pagosa’s river corridor without having to figure out the route or transportation yourself. And the shuttle happens before the fun. Your float finishes back in downtown Pagosa near our shop, your vehicle, dry clothes and the Hippy Dip hot springs. Stay by the river or soak in the hot springs for a while if you want. There’s no return shuttle to miss and no wet ride back across town—you’re on your own schedule. Pagosa Springs River Tube Rentals
Your River Day, Your Way. DIY Tube Rentals are the local-style way to tube Pagosa Springs. Grab one of our purpose-built single, XL or double whitewater tubes, set your own pace and build the river day yourself. Choose a 3-hour or full-day rental. Walk directly from our Main Street shop to the San Juan for downtown laps through the whitewater park, stop at Hippy Dip hot springs, hang out along the Riverwalk or use your own transportation to build a longer float when conditions allow. No scheduled shuttle. No package of extras you don’t need. You handle the river logistics. We provide the good stuff.
Pagosa Springs Kayak Rentals
Explore the lakes and waterways around Pagosa Springs with an inflatable kayak rental from Pagosa Outside. Stable, portable and easy to transport, inflatable kayaks are a great option for everything from a quiet day on a mountain lake to a more adventurous self-guided paddle. Each rental includes the kayak, paddle, pump, life jacket and a basic equipment orientation before you head out. The kayak travels deflated, so it fits easily into most vehicles without needing a roof rack or trailer. Your rental is booked by the calendar day. Standard pickup is 9:00–10:00 AM, and if your kayak is available after 3:00 PM the day before, you’re welcome to pick it up early at no extra charge. Choose your water. Pack the car. Go paddle.
Pagosa Springs SUP Rental

The River Sets the Rhythm
One of the things we love about Pagosa is that summer on the water never stays exactly the same.
Snowmelt fills the San Juan and kicks off rafting season. As the days warm and the river settles, tubes begin appearing downtown. Summer rain can freshen things up again, while mountain lakes give paddlers another completely different way to explore the San Juan Mountains.
That natural rhythm has shaped Pagosa Outside from the beginning.
We’ve built an operation that can move with the season—guided rafting when the river is running strong, whitewater tubing when summer flows settle in, and inflatable kayaks and SUPs when a mountain lake sounds like the better plan.
Through all of it, we stay hands-on. We use equipment we trust, pay attention to the details that make outdoor days easier and share the kind of local knowledge that only comes from spending a lot of time on these waters.
Our shop at 350 Pagosa Street sits right beside the San Juan, downtown whitewater park, Riverwalk and hot springs corridor, with the mountains and lakes just a short drive away.
