Experience one of the best float trips in Colorado! A scenic relaxing start a few miles upstream from Pagosa prepares you for the fun, splashy rapids of the downtown whitewater park. This Pagosa Springs whitewater rafting trip takes one and a half to two hours, including transportation time to and from the river. Actual time on the water is just under an hour.

This rafting adventure is perfect for anyone who just wants to “test the waters” when it comes to whitewater rafting in Pagosa Springs!

What the River Flow Means For Rafting

The River Gauge in Pagosa gives flow in CFS – cubic feet per seconds.  River levels can fluctuate daily based on snow melt and rainfall.

  • below 300 = Too low to raft, tubing
  • 300-800 = low
  • 800-1500 = medium
  • 1500-2400 = medium/high
  • 2400-3600 = high
  • 3600-up= really high

First trip down the river Pagosa Outside

First trip down the river for my family & we had a blast! Can't say enough good things about our guide, Becca, & the rest of the crew with Pagosa Outside. Would definitely recommend them for your adventure & we will most definitely return for many more adventures ourselves!

Fantastic introduction to whitewater rafting for my kids

I took my 7 and 9 year old white water rafting for the first time with Pagosa Outside. We did their 2 hour trip through town and the kids and I had so much fun we came back two days later to do their 4 hour trip through Mesa Canyon. Our guides on both trips were fun/supportive and knew their job well. Was very glad that they could give my kids such an awesome introduction to rafting and what may well be a lifelong hobby.
