No! It is a great opportunity for first-time rafters to "get their feet wet." The trip offers a perfect introduction to white-water rafting and your guides will ensure that you are well-prepared.
Absolutely! For most of the season the minimum age is 6 and kids should weigh at least 50 lbs. At springtime high flows those bump up to a minimum age of 10 and at least 90 lbs weight.
May and June are normally the best months for rafting in Pagosa. Peaks flows usually happen in mid to late May, which means bigger waves, splashes and thrills. In June the water and weather warm for ideal rafting conditions for everyone. By July, river flows normally drop too low to raft and that's when our tubing season begins.
