Rio Chama Rafting and Kayaking 2017-02-14T19:39:07+00:00

July and August bring hotter weather and the perfect Whitewater Tubing flows to the Pagosa area. Once our local rivers drop below rafting levels, we move our trips south to the Rio Chama in Northern New Mexico.  These mellow scenic rafting trips are a great way to relax and unwind with beautiful desert scenery and small splashy rapids.  For the more adventurous, inflatable kayaks are an exciting option at no extra charge.

Rio Chama Full Day:

A Desert Escape

The Rio Chama has a wonderful single day section as the river emerges from the canyon. This wide valley has spectacular views of the desert cliffs that border this areas and that are so famous in many different artists works, such as Georgia O’Keefe and Ansel Adams. The Rio Chama has a few moderate Class II and III rapids so is perfect for all ages and abilities. Day trips can be run in oar boats, paddle boats, and inflatable kayaks.
